I have previously cancelled my subscription. Can I restart without receiving Ancient Egypt again?

Yes, please log in to your account. Under the ‘Your Subscriptions’ panel, click ‘EDIT’, choose the subscription you want and click ‘Reactivate’. This ensures you will start your adventure from where you previously left off so you don’t receive previous adventures again.

I have previously purchased a gift order that expired. Can I restart without receiving Ancient Egypt again?

Yes, we just need to reactivate your original subscription from our end.  Don’t start a new subscription, please email us at  info@mysteriesintime.com

My child received this as a gift from someone else, which has now expired. Can I continue this from where we left off?

Yes, start a new subscription through the website, but please email us at info@mysteriesintime.com once the order is placed to ensure you don’t start from the beginning again.

About Mysteries in Time

What is Mysteries in Time?

Mysteries in Time is a monthly educational subscription for children, designed to bring history to life for 6-11 year olds.

How do I know if it will be suitable for my child?

While aimed at 6-11 year olds, this is more of a guidance than a limit.

Younger children may still find it accessible, depending on their reading ability and how much adult support they get. Older children may still love it too!

How much help will my child need?

Most children aged 6-11 will happily enjoy the fun activities in Mysteries in Time independently, but they are wonderful activities to share and enjoy together!  We do recommend adult supervision when they get started with the craft/activity in the Bumper Box subscription.

NB: not suitable for children under 3, due to small parts.

Is it educational?

Yes! While each adventure is packed full of educational goodness, it has been designed by a primary school teacher to disguise the learning into a fun package so your child won’t even realise they’re learning!

Does it follow the curriculum?

Mysteries in Time can be used to support or complement the curriculum, but it does not exclusively follow it. We believe in a broad educational experience and are happy to be free from the constraints of the curriculum; we will choose our historical topics based on how interesting we think they are to explore and learn about.

Are the adventures sent in a set order?

Yes! We send our adventures in a fun order, moving between ancient, middle and modern history. If you prefer to explore the adventures in your own order, we can send multiple adventures at once. Please place your order for 3-month / 6-month / 12-month plan, then email us requesting that we ship them all at once.

Gifting

Can I buy a gift without it renewing?

All subscriptions are auto-renewing. However, you can simply log straight in to your account after placing the order. On the ‘Subscriptions’ page, choose to ‘view’ the relevant subscription: here you can turn the auto-renew off. Alternatively, you can ‘suspend’ or ‘cancel’ the subscription. Any adventures that you have already paid for will still stand, it just means you have paused or cancelled the auto-renewal aspect.

When will payment be collected?

Payment for your plan is taken when you first sign up, with the first adventure being shipped within 5 working days.

All subscription renewals after that will be taken automatically on the 3rd of the month, with that adventure being shipped 23rd of the same month.

If you select “This is a gift” at check-out, no further payments will be taken.

You can log in to your account to check the date of renewal.

How can I pay?

You can pay using all major debit and credit cards or through PayPal.

Can I choose which historical theme I get?

Not at the moment. The first month, which is set in Ancient Egypt, sets the scene and includes the world map with timeline. Therefore, this is always the theme you will receive first. Subsequent months will be a range of ancient, middle and modern history (for example Ancient Egypt, the Elizabethans and World War Two).  You can see the order they come in here: Order of Themes

Where do you ship?

When will I get my first box?

New orders are shipped within 5 working days of placing your order, so you can start the adventure in Ancient Egypt in no time!

Renewals happen 3rd of the following month*, with that adventure being shipped 23rd of that same month.
*Our cut-off date for a month’s orders is the 22nd. So for example, if you order 23rd September – 22nd October inclusive, you would be in our October batch of orders. So your first renewal on a monthly plan would be 3rd November, with the 2nd adventure being shipped 23rd November.
If you have placed your order and want to check when your first renewal will be, please log in to your account and look under ‘your subscriptions’.
If you ordered just after our cut-off date, received the first adventure and LOVED it, you don’t have to wait over a month for your next renewal! Please email us requesting that we bring your renewal forward and your second adventure can be included in our next batch.
How long will shipping take?

We send all packages on or around the 23rd of the month.

Due to COVID-19 effects on the postal services, the delivery times below are sometimes taking longer than usual.  We thank you for your patience.

We use Royal Mail 48 hour service for UK addresses, so most customers should receive their package within 2 working days.

For customers outside the UK we use Royal Mail International Standard. Within Europe most customers should receive their package within 3-5 working days and in the rest of the world within 5-7 working days.

Can I receive multiple adventures at the same time?

Absolutely! If you would like to receive all the packages in one go please place your order, then email us at info@mysteriesintime.com asking us to send them all at the same time.

I haven't received my package. What should I do?

Due to COVID-19 postal delays, in some instances packages are taking longer than usual to be delivered.

First, please log in to your account and check that the shipping address is correct.   Then, for UK customers, please allow at least 5 working days after receiving the despatch email.   For EU customers, please allow at least 10 working days and for the rest of the world please allow 15 working days.

Cancelling & changes to my account

Can I buy more than one subscription in one go?

Yes, you can add multiple subscriptions to your account.

– Choose “SUBSCRIBE” from the menu on the top right of the page

– Go through the process to choose the product and plan you wish for the first child

– When you get to the check-out page, don’t pay yet! Click ‘subscribe’ again along the top menu

– Go through the process again for the second child

– At check-out, check you have the two subscriptions in the basket, and place the order

Can I pause my subscription?

You can skip your next renewal by logging in to your account.

Under ‘Your subscription’, click the ‘edit’ button. On the next page click “Skip Next Renewal”.

If you change your mind about skipping the next renewal, log back in to your account and click the “Click to Un-Skip!” button.

If you wish to skip 2 or 3 months at a time, please email us at info@mysteriesintime.com

Should you wish to pause your subscription, you need to do so on or before the 2nd of the month. If you miss this deadline, then our automatic payment system will collect the next month’s subscription and you will receive the next package.

How can I cancel?

We send all packages on or around the 23rd of the month.

We are of course very sorry to see you go!

To cancel, log in to your account. Under ‘Your Subscription(s)’, click ‘EDIT’. On the next page, scroll down and click: ‘CANCEL SUBSCRIPTION’.

This means that no further money will be taken, but outstanding shipments still stand.

You can cancel your  monthly subscription at any time before the renewal happens on 3rd of the month.

If you have pre-paid for the 3, 6 or 12 month package, and then cancel it, you will still receive the remaining number of boxes which you have paid for, but this will not then renew after you have cancelled.

You need to cancel your subscription on or before the 2nd of the month. If you miss this deadline, then our automatic payment system will collect the next month’s payment on 3rd of the month and you will receive the next package as the final package.

Can I get a refund?

The pre-pay plans are non-refundable.

I cancelled my subscription, but want to restart - will I get the same boxes gain?

If you start a new subscription, you will start from Ancient Egypt again.

If you don’t want to start from Ancient Egypt again, log in to your account, then under ‘Your subscriptions’ click ‘edit’. Then choose ‘reactivate’. This way you will pick up where you left off.

Can I change from Classic Pack to Bumper Box and vice versa?

Yes, you can. Please log in to your account to change your product. You must do this on or before the 2nd of the month, as the automatic payment system will take payment on the 3rd of the month.

If you have already paid for the next adventure and wish to upgrade this, please email us at info@mysteriesintime.com and we will arrange for a PayPal invoice so you can pay the upgrade amount.
